Teens Shine Hope

Teen Mental Health Crisis
Teen mental health challenges are on the rise, making hope more important than ever. According to recent CDC data, 40% of high school students—including 57% of high school girls—report persistent feelings of hopelessness. Hopelessness is often linked to adverse outcomes, including poor mental and physical health, violence, school dropout, substance misuse, and poor academic performance.
But there’s good news…
Hope is measurable, teachable, and a powerful protective factor, improving resilience and reducing the risks associated with hopelessness. Teaching hope gives teens the skills to proactively shift from hopelessness to hope. That’s why we’re inviting teens to the Shine Hope Story Workshop in Rogers, AR!
Join Us for the Shine Hope Story Workshop on February 22 - No Cost to Attend!
The Shine Hope Company will host a Shine Hope Story Workshop for teens on Saturday, February 22, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, in partnership with the Teen Action & Support Center (TASC) at their ‘The Hub’ location (1194 W. Walnut St.) in Rogers, Arkansas. Registration is required and limited.
The Shine Hope Story Workshop will teach teens in the Northwest Arkansas community the importance of hope, how to measure it, and how to develop skills to become more hopeful.
The workshop will be led by me, and Avery Peel, the company’s Community Hope Specialist. Special guest Madeline Bohlman, Miss Arkansas USA, will also share her journey and how she shines hope.
Why This Matters
“We need to teach our teens how to Shine hope now more than ever. At TASC, we are excited to partner with The Shine Hope Company to equip our teens and help them enter adulthood with hope for their future” — Dawn Spragg, LPC, Co-Founder & Director of Therapeutic Care, TASC
“It is so critical that teens feel comfortable talking about skills to improve mental health and know where to go in the community to find extra resources,” — Madeline Bohlman, Miss Arkansas USA
We wait far too long to address youth mental health challenges. Our programming takes an upstream approach, providing preventative, proactive, and evidence-informed skills to activate hope. It’s time for a whole-society, systems-based approach so that everyone knows how to Shine Hope.
