Hope Is Measurable. Start Here.
As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month, we are reminded of something critical: Hope is not just a feeling. It is a measurable, teachable skill that drives resilience, wellbeing, and outcomes across every domain of life.
This week, we invite you to take action.
Measure your Hope. Build it. Share it.

Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month
Awareness is the first step, but it is not the outcome. True awareness requires understanding where you are and what you can do next.
Knowing your Hope level is foundational. It gives you a starting point for growth.
You cannot grow what you do not measure. Your Hope is worth growing.

Mark Your Calendars: International Day of Hope | July 12
Measurement must lead to action.
On July 12, the world will come together to activate Hope across communities, schools, workplaces, and families.
Measure Hope. Teach Hope. Share Hope.
Together, we keep Shining Hope.

Introducing the Hopeful Cities Ambassador Program
Hopeful Cities is how we scale Hope.
We partner with cities to teach the science and skills of Hope across schools, workplaces, and communities, helping people move from despair to positive emotions and from helplessness to inspired actions.
If you live in a licensed Hopeful City:
Step forward as an Ambassador and help bring this work to life locally.

If your city is not yet licensed:
Now is the time to lead. Bring Hopeful Cities to your community.

Keynote Announcement: TheMHS Conference 2026 | Sydney
This August, I will be keynoting at TheMHS Conference 2026 in Sydney, one of the largest and most influential mental health conferences in the world.
This moment is deeply meaningful to me. I studied in Australia, and to return and share the science and practice of Hope on this stage is both personal and powerful.
If you will be attending, I would love to see you there.
Hope is not a soft concept. It is a measurable, teachable driver of resilience, connection, and recovery. This keynote will focus on what it takes to move individuals and systems from hopelessness to Hope in a practical, scalable way.

Choosing Love, Compassion and Hope on Global Love Day
I recently joined Scarlett Lewis and Pato Banton for a powerful conversation on what it means to choose love, practice compassion, and build Hope, especially in life’s most difficult moments.

Join the Book Study: The Biggest Little Book About Hope
The Maine Schoolsite Wellness Program is hosting a 6-week book study following the 2026 Winter Wellness Summit, where I had the honor of serving as the featured keynote.
Led by the Maine Schoolsite Wellness team, this study builds on the Summit by translating the science of Hope into practical applications for schools and communities.
Participants will explore how Hope impacts mental health, resilience, and school culture, and gain concrete strategies to strengthen wellbeing across their environments.
This opportunity is open to educators, school leaders, and anyone interested in applying Hope-based strategies within their organization or community.
A copy of The Biggest Little Book About Hope is required for full participation and can be purchased via Amazon or Walmart.
